Upcoming stuff and updates of Fall Retreat!!!

     

Hey all, just a reminder that your new youth calendars are here.  Don't forget to pick one up at either JYG or Rhythm on Sunday.

A couple of reminders...

1.  Since camp was cancelled at Mount Hermon, we will need to reschedule.  It looks like we will be headed to Yong Life camp at Wood Leaf on December 12th!  Young Life is an amazing camp and you don't want to miss this.

2.  Don't forget that Jan 7th we have a really fun laser tag event for high school and junior high.  Junior Highers will get there first and play.  When they finish, high schoolers will then arrive and do the same!

Get concert tickets now!!!!

 

Remember that September 28th we are headed to the Sleep Train Amphitheatre to see Switchfoot and 3rd Day.  The cost is $25. The concert starts at 6 p.m.  This is a great concert!  The bands will be awesome, but more importantly it is a part of the "Music Builds Tour".  The tour is designed to help raise awareness about Habitat for Humanity and money for Habitat for Humanity.  If you are not familiar with Habitat and their mission, you should really look them up on-line.  They build homes EVERYWHERE!  So really, it's more than just about music.  As always, we are looking for drivers.  We have a limited number of tickets, so grab them now.

JYG Fall Retreat!!!

JYGers and parents!  Don't forget to sign up for the JYG Winter Retreat!!! It's going to be February 15-17th and will only cost $45.  It's going to be a great time!  You don't want to miss it.  There are also camperships available if you need them!  Sign up at church and remember to pick up a permission slip and a packing list.

Laser Tag

High Schoolers!!! Don't forget this Saturday is Laser Tag for Rhythm!  Get to the church at 4:30.  You need to bring $20 and a permission slip!  If you didn't sign up, let me know you are coming so that we can get enough rides for you and your friends!  We should be back around 9:30-10:00ish.  Feel free to invite a friend, but just let me know if they are coming. 673-7353 ext. 23

O.K., so the two people I admire the most are 1. Jesus and 2. Mr. T.  Here is a recent video of the three of us at a Christmas party.  Also, read below about some important dates of stuff coming up!

This Sunday! 7:00-8:30 Is "La Posada" for high school.  It's pretty sweet.  It is a Mexican Tradition of walking from door to door asking for shelter like Mary, Joseph, and Jesus did.  The last house we arrive at is the Inn that takes us in.  It's pretty cool.  You go in, get warm, and eat together.  See you at 7:00

Also, don't forget that New Year's Eve is the Football under the lights at Yuba City High School from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.  We will meet at Anne and Matt's house at 10:30!  See you then!

Justice Ride 2007!!!! $3000 and counting!!!

You guys are amazing!  Together, you helped raise over $3000 dollars for two local groups fighting homelesness in our town and the International Justice Mission that fights injustice around the world.  You learned about Injustice and created the 2007 Justice Ride!  200 miles in one day!

Philippians 4:13- 'I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength."

God bless you guys!  You are studs and studettes!

The Justice Ride!!!!! Woot!

Hey, in case you didn't know, we have the Justice Ride coming up on September 29th!  Mike Wilson is going to be riding 200 miles in one day to benefit 2 local and one international groups that are trying to fight injustice in our world.  This is a youth run event!  Here is how you can help-

1. GET PLEDGES!  Help fight injustice in the name of Christ!

2.  Staff and aid station!  We need three more stations manned/womanned!

3.  Prayer!  Start praying for health, safety, tires, weather, money, etc.  Pray for details.

4.  Show up and cheer Mike on!  6:00 a.m. on September 29th!

If you want to do an aid station, then call Matt at 673-7353 ext. 23

French Toast Friday Tomorrow, High Schoolers!!!

O.K., we are not going to be having them consistently till January, but French Toast Fridays are back!  Tomorrow at 7 a.m. we will be having the always spectacular French Toast Friday at Matt and Anne's house at 1067 McCollum Ave.  To get there, just go down Franklin away from church across the 99 till you hit Gray Ave.  Turn left on Gray Ave and then take your first right on McCollum.  It's three doors down on the left.  See you then!!!
